Amir Siddique : ウィキペディア英語版 | Amir Siddique Amir Siddique is an Imam who was appointed, in 2007, as deputy-imam at the Jamia Fareedia madrasah attached to Islamabad's Red Mosque.〔C. Christine Fair & Sumit Ganguly; p106; ''Treading on Hallowed Ground: Counterinsurgency Operations in Sacred Spaces;'' Oxford University Press US, 2008 ISBN 0-19-534204-6〕 The mosque was an Islamic militant stronghold and had previously been responsible for kidnapping foreigners. The army laid siege to the mosque in 2007 resulting in many deaths, including the mosque's leader. Many survivors escaped to the Taliban in the Swat Valley.〔The Independent; ''Britain's Least Wanted;'' 6 May 2009〕 In May 2009, Siddique was named on the list of "Individuals banned from the UK for stirring-up hatred".〔 〕〔(Independent ) retrieved 27th Sept 2010〕 The reason for the ban is that he is "Considered to be engaging in unacceptable behaviour by fomenting terrorist violence in furtherance of particular beliefs." ==References==
